Friends of EATMT Christmas Party 2009

Saturday 12th December 2009, Creeting St Mary Village Hall

Booking Form

Once again we're off to Creeting St Mary Village Hall for a Christmas party. The hall has a nice intimate atmosphere, plus good kitchen and bar facilities.

We’ve got a lovely line-up to entertain you this year, including superb singers Peta Webb and Ken Hall who have graced many a festival stage, and sing gorgeous harmonies on a a really interesting range of songs. We all like a good laugh on an evening out, so we’ve invited Steven Bayfield to come along and tell some of his outrageous Suffolk stories, and by special request have managed to engage the completely madcap Dr Sunshine (a.k.a. Dave Hunt, who will no doubt be masterminding the cooking too! - see picture below, too). Last but by no means least, Simon Ritchie, singer, musician and stepdancer extraordinaire from Thaxted in Essex will add local songs and music to the evening’s menu.

And there are always a few surprises at our Christmas parties, plus a great big raffle - how can you resist!!!

As usual, we are keen to source as much of the food for the meal from local farms and companies, if you have any contacts you think might be willing to support us, please let us know ASAP, and do let us know if you can help in anyway on the night itself.

Christmas Parties Past

In 2007, a very jolly time was had by all at the Friends’ Christmas Party in December, including two of our patrons Mark Murphy and Lesley Dolphin (pictured above left, dancing a polka with John Howson from EATMT). Colin and Karen Cater sang a selection of seasonal and local songs, and passed around the wassail cup! Dave and Maggie Hunt came out from behind the frying pans in the kitchen to entertain us in the old Music Hall style (above, right), and Reg Reader and Tom Knight delighted us with dulcimer duets before Tony Hall came on and bemused us with his Norfolk talk, thrilled us with his gorgeous music and totally brought the house down with his new song - a lullaby - you have to hear it to understand! In 2008, there was once again the usual mixture of merriment and mirth, good food, entertainment and a jolly good raffle! Friends Dan Quinn and Will Duke from Sussex entertained us with some of their excellent “tall tales”, tunes and songs.

We are very grateful to all who supported us and donated raffle prizes in the past, including Grange Farm Shop in Hasketon, Hollowtrees Farm Shop near Hadleigh and the East of England Co-op, and Grange Farm Butchers from Woolpit .
