Strumpshaw Tree Fair and the Norfolk musicians from Hushwing and Bristol Fashion bands entertained the Fair-Goers on Saturday 16th July. You can read more HERE – which includes a short video of their playing. You can see them again in this line up at Traditional Music Day on Saturday 10th September in the Walnut, Stowmarket – one of the venues we’re delighted to be using on the day.
Stepdance Day took place on Sunday 24th July for the first time in Cambridgeshire. We had a lovely afternoon and were delighted to be supported by visitors from Bedfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and of course, Cambridgeshire. A lovely session in the Tharp Arms afterwards rounded the day off very nicely. Read our report HERE.
We’re taking a short holiday from 30th July to 7th August – don’t let that stop you buying tickets to Traditional Music Day – Tickets can be purchased for: the Friday Night Ceilidh with the Hosepipe Band and caller Mary Panton; Traditional Music Day time events (10.30-6pm) and Traditional Music Day Evening Concerts. We’ve got a wonderful range of activities, events and performers – something for everyone!
Plan A was the event as publicised above. Like many events that were planned once restrictions were lifted in the summer, in reality audiences were still feeling concerned about attending indoor events and so in the week leading up to 16th October, EATMT and the artists involved in this planned event reverted to Plan B.
A video camera was hired, a young and keen film maker made herself available to assist and thanks to advice from Chris Metherell and local film maker, Ben Land, a small group of us travelled to Yarmouth and to the Autumn Years Clubhouse where we spent the afternoon filming the event without an audience.
Katie Haines our camera lady then edited the film and this can now be seen on our youtube page HERE. Plan B came with additional expense and no income and so if you do take the time to look at this event via youtube and you like what you see, then please do consider making a donation to EATMT. You can do that via paypal or alternatively email the Trust to find out how to make a donation. For the full article written by Chris please see HERE.
